A Lighter Shade of Brown (LSOB) was a Latino hip hop group from Riverside,
California.
History LSOB was formed in 1990 by Robert Gutierrez, AKA ODM (One Dope
Mexican) and Bobby Ramirez, alias DTTX (Don't Try to Xerox).[LINK:

Biography, Allmusic.com They recorded demos and landed a record deal soon
after, debuting with the 1991 disc Brown and Proud. After their second LP,
1992's Hip Hop Locos, they provided songs for Latino-market movies such as
Mi Vida Loca and I Like It Like That. Their chart performance (which
included "On a Sunday Afternoon", a #1 hit in New Zealand for two weeks in
1992) netted them a deal with major label Mercury Records, who released
their third disc, Layin' in the Cut, in 1994. Their earlier hit "On a
Sunday Afternoon", a success in the U.S.,
