A Sight For Sore Eyes is a psychological thriller by British crime-writer Ruth Rendell. Plot summary The novel's two main protagonists are Francine Hill and Teddy Brex. When a young child, Francine was in the house when her mother was shot by a stranger at the door, and has been raised by her stepmother Julia as a near-prisoner. Teddy, too, is an orphan who has lived in a world of almost unlimited freedom since the death of his parents. He loves beautiful objects and fine craftsmanship, and little else.
