Eagle Seagull are an indie rock band from Lincoln, Nebraska.
Formed in early 2004 in Lincoln, NE, Eagle Seagull were an immediate buzz in the independent music scene and began recording their debut record in November of 2004 - a task that continued off and on for the next eight months. Released in October of 2005 on Paper Garden Records, it was hailed by many critics as one of the best albums of that year and garnered considerable national and international attention. In 2006, the band signed to Lado, based in Hamburg, Germany who released the album in Europe in August of 2006. They are best known for their single "Photograph", which charted at #2 in the Austrian Indie Charts. Their album reached #8 on the same chart.
Their second album, titled "The Year of the How-To Book" is rumoured to be released in early 2008 and was produced by Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, The Gossip, Steven Malkmus). At a recent show at the Lincoln, NE music club Box Awsome, guitarist Austin Skiles promised that the new album was coming out very soon. Two songs are available for download: "I'm Sorry, But I'm Beginning To Hate Your Face" was featured as the KEXP song of the day on August 24th
