Hardflip

Biography

Hardflip is a skateboarding trick. An ollie variation, it can also be described as a frontside shove-it kickflip. It was brought to public attention by Daewon Song as the slow-motion final trick (across a patch of dirt) in his part in the World Industries video "Love Child" (1992). Because of the physics of this trick, many skaters allow the board to rotate vertically rather than horizontally. Daewon Song's "Love Child" version was clearly horizontal, but more recently professionals including Chet Thomas, Kareem Campbell (usually in nollie and switch stance) and Kris Markovich, have popularised the vertical rotation, referred to by some as an "illusion flip". It appears in this latter form in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series. This trick is considered by some to be easier when performed switch. Skateboarding tricks HardflipHardflip
